Love: It’s more than what you think it is

I have read a quote from Oliver Wendell Holmes online that says: “Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness.”

Then goes the question: What is happiness to you? Can you really be happy with love, or can you be happy without love in your heart and in your life? You see, love is such a complex thing. A four letter word, but goes as deep as an ocean. As deep as it is, that’s why a big man cries when his love interest leaves him. Love is the reason why a rich man is ready to give up everything he has just for the love of a poor girl, the reason why a fragile weak girl can be strong — when she sees her prince’s smile for her. And as some line goes, Love is the reason why we can’t sleep at night, yet, is the reason why we still want to see the morning of the following day — to at least see the glimpse of our loved ones.

But nowadays, as our generation passes, (and I am referring to the people as same age as mine or older), youth are being more and more aggressive. I’m done discussing the fantasy side of love, the sweet side of it, but we can’t deny the fact that if you love someone, you don’t want to see them suffer, so if you have no job, no money to spend on your children’s basic needs, don’t get married yet (I’m still single and I’m saying this). I just thought, Love is more than texting your special someone at 1:43 am, 1:43 pm, 3:41 am and 3:41 pm even all day, just to express your love for him, love is more than saying “I love you”. It takes a lot of responsibility, understanding and patience, and most of all, fear of God. Human love fades, and the moment when you no longer have feeling for your husband or wife, the fear of God should take place or else you might commit adultery. How did I know? My father left our country to work abroad, my mother was left alone for years, if my mother had no fear of God, she would have committed those sins. Going back to the love topic, another point is, if you’re a man and not ready to be responsible enough to take charge, don’t get married yet. Get into marriage when you’re ready, at least, you will not suffer poverty that much.

Then there goes the fantasy and reality side of Love, I know I haven’t said it all. Love can’t be explained, it’s best felt by the heart. Best accepted and fought for. I would like to quote this verse as it explains better:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8, King James Bible

Just to clarify: Falling in love and getting into marriage are different things. But still the best reason to get into marriage is because you’ve fallen in love and can’t afford to lose the person you had your heart with. I would still like to see people falling in love and believing in its power. And to those people who are loving someone, then good luck to all of us! Spread the L-O-V-E! Ciao!
