Look at Me now

A Poem by: Maria Elena Bitare

Her eyes ain’t dry
In her smiles, she hides
He didn’t see her die
He can’t tell by her radiant smile

No one has stared at her
No one felt her pain deeper
No one tried to look at her
No one had seen her suffer

Look into her eyes and you’ll see
The pain I hide from you could be
The reason why I can’t look at you
There’s a pain you never knew

Hi, thanks for your comment. I do appreciate that you liked my poems. Yes, this poem has a story. I was with someone special, and he didnโ€™t notice that Iโ€™m in pain.

It is that time that if he just looked deep to my eyes, heโ€™ll see the pain that lingers in me. Thatโ€™s all ๐Ÿ™‚
